McCain buying spam lists or web-scraping for e-mail addresses?

I keep track of our companies general, sales, customer service, support and marketing @ companyname.com mailboxes.

And, for about 2-3 weeks, I have been getting McCain mail, one JUST came in from John McCain [johnmccain@gop.com].

I have yet to see ONE Obama ad.

Now, I am in charge of sending out mail from those mailboxes, and, as far as I know, I have yet to send one to the GOPERS.

So, why am I getting McCain spam?  How did they get these addresses, did they scrape them off our webpages?

Is anyone else running a corporate IT site getting this stuff?

Does anyone know if they are web-page scrapping for addresses or buying spam lists?

Blue, this is interesting.  Could they really be that desperate?

I worked on McCain's primary campaign in 2000, so I still get McCain crap 8 years later.  But that makes some sense...yours is probably different.

Have you ever worked in any public capacity?

Nope, high-tech private industry, after about a 10 year shot in the music biz after college...

I have volunteered a lot for campaigns, funny, I get ripped by the Clinton folks here, but the last time I was really working deep in a campaign was for Bill the first time around.

Just like Obama, I picked him early, got committed and worked my butt off.

LOL, I bet, between direct to the Big Dogs campaign, and the money I sent to MoveOn during the impeachment wars, I have probably put down 2-3 times what most of the folks calling me a Clinton hater have to the Clinton machine!

My girlfriend works for a medical non-profit, she is underpaid for what she does, but it's a wonderful environment, not the cutthroat "profit is king" world I live in....
